As a consultant, you must be able to convince others (particularly clients) of the value of consulting. With this in mind, and digesting the knowledge you have acquired thus far, write a short memo in which you outline the value of consulting to your senior leadership. This memo should be addressed to a specific individual and should avoid writing in vague generalities. Instead, it should identify and focus on a specific issue or problem within your (or a targeted) organization. Furthermore, this memo is not to be a pitch letter where you are advocating for someone to hire your services. Rather, the memorandum should outline the key advantages a consultant would bring to the addressee’s issue/problem and offer insights into why they should consider engaging the services of a professional consultant to find solutions and paths forward toward a preferred future. Again, your goal is to convince a specific leader to consider consulting as a viable option to help them overcome a particular issue/challenge. Done well, this memo should elicit inquiries from the leader/reader for more information and (potentially) a request for a proposal or pitch letter. Finally, make sure that you offer a definition of what consulting is to ensure that the reader has a clear understanding of what you are suggesting they consider.
Format: Consulting Memorandum (*Please research traditional memorandum formats and make sure that your submission follows these norms). Submissions must be in Word format.
